Review: Rocker is an essential new dining spot for North Bondi (Sydney)

North Bondi was chosen as the location for Rocker, a high-profile new opening from Sweet & Chilli’s Cam Northway and the always-excellent Darren Robertson, best known for being one of the driving forces behind Three Blue Ducks as well as his new stint on My Kitchen Rules. Reputation is nothing without execution though, and fortunately this casual all-day restaurant and bar delivers, both with it’s locally-appropriate laid-back atmosphere and gorgeous share-style dining.... Review: Luis Tans – Bondi (Sydney)

Tucked just off Campbell Parade is where you’ll find The House of Luis Tans (Luis Tans for short), shaped into a space that formerly hosted contemporary Japanese spot PaperPlanes, ditching the Asian pop art for a mature dip into Peruvian chic, a stylish 70’s pastiche helped by vintage posters and stripes of colour. The restaurant takes its name from a ridiculously wealthy Peruvian hustler (Lui) and the luxurious estate he built with his wife (Akemi Tan), daughter of the boss in the largest yakuza syndicate since the mid 20th century. Review: Drake Eatery’s Producers Dinner – Bondi (Sydney)

Drake Eatery’s chic yet homely decor would only be half the reason Bondi passers by would gravitate towards a place named after two things, the street Head Chef Ian Oakes’ grandma lived on and his favourite poultry. Focussed on simply prepared dishes that hero quality locally sourced and sustainable produce in a relaxed setting, it seems that on the eve of the venue’s first birthday any uncertainties this venture wasn’t going to fly (pun intended) may have been quietened for the time being....
