Arnott’s have been doing a lot of crazy things lately. Last July they translated four of their most iconic biscuits [that aren’t Shapes] into ice creams, they recently opened a giant Shapes box, and now they’ve fattened some of their biscuits into indulgent mini cakes. And it’s the ones you would have asked for anyway: Mint Slice, Iced VoVo, Caramel Crowns, and Monte Carlo. ... Read More | Share it now!
Arnott’s Shapes are still very much top of the line as far as Aussie snacks go, which should come to no surprise seeing as 230,000 packs of the things are consumed every day across the country (compare that with 100,000 packs of Jatz, and 43,000 packs of Vita-Weat). In a response to the strong-as-ever popularity of Shapes, Arnott’s will today be launching a new campaign (#whatacracker) in Sydney by turning a section of the Overseas Passenger Terminal into a free-entry life-size Shapes box, popped up for today and tomorrow only.... For the second time ever, iconic Aussie snack lords Arnott’s have teamed up with dessert gods Gelato Messina to create three new gelato-inspired flavours for the infinitely loved Tim Tam. The last time we this dream collaboration popped up, we got four new iterations of the legendary biscuit, the best being “Black Forest” and the not-best being “Salted Caramel & Vanilla” (sorry guys, Zumbo did it better). Now we’re getting three vastly different flavours, and from a quick taste test by the offices over here at the AU, we can confidently state that this range is well worth a look. ... In the wildest Australian collaboration yet Arnott’s have teamed up with Peters on a range of ice creams which take some of the former brand’s most iconic biscuits and turns them into indulgent ice creams. While we’re not quite at the level of Pizza Shape ice cream yet, four or Arnott’s other most famous expressions have been chosen for the now-released range, which includes Mint Slice, Wagon Wheels, Caramel Crowns, and the timeless classic Iced Vovo. ... On January 26th Arnott’s announced that their latest Tim Tam collaboration would be with one of Australia’s most beloved dessert brands, Gelato Messina. Excitement was immediate. Messina have become the go-to for funky gelato flavours, and Arnott’s iconic Tim Tam remain one of the country’s most beloved snacks (they are even available in the U.S now), so surely combining these two should ideally produce the most magical range of Tim Tam flavours yet.... Call this the dessert collaboration to end all dessert collaborations (and we all know just how many pop up just about every week). Arnott’s have had the good sense to take their iconic Tim Tam biscuits and introduce a range of new flavours in partnership with none other than the most in-demand dessert brand in the country, Gelato Messina. ... Earlier this year Arnott’s did something very, very bad and ill-advised, inexplicably announcing that they’ll be taking the “if it ain’t broke, break it” approach by changing the recipe for their Shapes range. This unsurprisingly led to frustration and outrage, being that one of the country’s most loved snacks had been completely flipped upside down with new seasoning, seemingly to improve the range’s health rating (which probably works by making you not wanting to eat them at all). Negative feedback forced the brand to backflip on a few flavours eventually – particularly the much-loved BBQ – but the majority of Shapes flavours stuck to the new recipe.... Arnott’s iconic Tim Tam goes through changes every now and then, necessary because demand for these timeless biscuits won’t die down. There’s something about those velvety logs of chocolate encasing various flavours that still fills tourists with envy and Australians with pride, and it was only a matter of time before the brand’s next step looks towards some classic cocktails. Really, it’s surprising that these flavours are only hitting the market now.... Read More | Share it now!
