New Zealand’s excellent Panhead Custom Ales re-enter the Australian market

If you’ve ever stumbled upon Panhead Custom Ales in New Zealand then you already know that they are one of the country’s best when in comes to craft beers. They were sorely missed when they retreated from Australian soil with a year-long absence, but following a brewery expansion with the valuable backing of Lion, the Upper Hutt champs have re-entered the down under market.

Now Panhead have a proper outlet to increase supply across the country, with their acclaimed core range being brewed on-site in Sydney; specifically, Malt Shovel Brewery in Camperdown. This includes the ever-so-popular gold medal-winning Quickchange Xtra Pale Ale as well as the extra hoppy Supercharger APA and a forthcoming range of specialty beers making their way down from New Zealand.

“Lion’s backing will really help Panhead get in the hands of anyone, anywhere in Australia and New Zealand”, said Panhead’s Chief Beer Engineer Mike Neilson. “That’s really important to us because we want as many people as possible to experience our beer. We’re particularly stoked to be working with the boys at Malt Shovel Brewery to brew Quickchange XPA locally. They’re techy brewers – just like us – and by brewing this beer locally, our kegs are fresher than ever”.

And by the way, if you’re over in Auckland anytime between now and March make sure to stop by Panhead’s special pop-up bar down at the Auckland Viaduct. With 14 taps, wines and some excellent food on offer, this writer can attest that it’s well worth the visit.

Panhead is now available in good pubs and bottle shops across Australia.
