Barossa Boy: a new wine series launches out of the Barossa Valley

Sixth generation Barossa winemaker Trent Burge is spearheading a new passion project and wine series titled Barossa Boy, a collection that he hopes will mirror the same consistency and quality that’s been threaded through his family’s history in the Valley which dates back to 1855, when his great-great-great grandfather John Burge first immigrated to South Australia.

“The objective of Barossa Boy wines is to continue what generations before me have created, showcasing the Barossa’s most loved varietals in a modern way, by telling untold stories of my life lived in this extraordinary region”, said Trent, who has already released the first two wines from the series: the 2016 Little Tacker Grenache Shiraz Mataro, with deep notes of juicy berries and a rounded profile of spicy vanilla oak, and the 2016 Double Trouble Shiraz Cabernet, a big wine with dark chocolate and raspberry aromas giving way to prominent blackcurrant and spearmint.

A further two wines – the Young Wisdom Mataro and Lifeblood Shiraz – will be released early next year, with the brands official launch set for January. Both of the already released wines retail for $30 per bottle and can be purchased online HERE.
