Sydney spirit heavy hitters Archie Rose Distilling Co have scored a big partnership with P&O Cruises. As of this June, the awarded distiller will climb on board and watch their spirits infuse the many flavours on offer at Pacific Explorer’s dedicated cocktail bar The Bonded Store. The forthcoming 77,000 tonne superliner (which is currently sailing as Dawn Princess with sister line Princess Cruises) will be using Archie Rose’s handcrafted spirits in each and every one of their creations to ensure guests are well taken care of.
The popular craft distiller will also be hosting special gin and whisky making masterclasses on various Pacific Explorer cruises, bringing a slice of Sydney’s small bar scene on board.
“The small and hidden bar scene is incredibly popular on land so we’re taking the concept to sea with The Bonded Store which will feature a stylish and somewhat quirky decor in an intimate setting, as well as fantastic Archie Rose cocktails”, explained P&O Cruises president Sture Myrmell. “It’s another highlight for Pacific Explorer which really represents the next step in the evolution of P&O’s fleet…from lawn bowls on the deck to a delicious negroni in The Bonded Store”.
The Archie Rose partnership is the latest development in a whole stack of new offerings for Pacific Explorer, which also include an enormous on board waterpark and two giant waterslides shooting over the side of the ship. The dining side of things seems to be in fine hands with Asian inspired restaurant Dragon Lady and classic Italian restaurant Angelo’s both making their way over to Pacific Explorer after success on Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden.
Pacific Explorer will be refitted and ready to sail on her first cruise from Sydney on June 22nd. Itineraries start from $399 per person quad share for a three night SeaBreak cruise (that next one of which departs Sydney on 4th August 2017). For more information click HERE.
