Cocktail Recipe: Nichiren 1275 for World Tequila Day

It’s World Tequila Day today, bringing cause to celebrate one of the best and most diverse spirits in the world, a spirit which has seen numerous expressions and inventive cocktails pop up across decades. While there are plenty of ways to go out and celebrate Tequila (that don’t involve cheap shots in a backpacker bar) we thought it best to cater to those spending Sunday night in doors, with one of the best Tequila cocktail recipes we’ve come across recently, using an award-winning Australian brand nonetheless.

Grab yourself a Sesión Reposado and mix up the following Nichiren 1275, an Asian inspired concoction that has been named after the monk who first made note of the word edamame in 1275.

Ingredients
30 ml Sesión Reposado
15 ml Grand Marnier
15 ml Choya shiso umeshu
20 ml Edamame puree
15 ml Lemon juice
5 ml Yuzu juice
Pinch of salt & shichimi

Method
Add all ingredients to shaker, shake vigorously with ice and double strain into chilled coupette glass, garnish with dehydrated orange wheel and serve on board next to a hollow lime with edamame beans (as pictured above).
