Zambrero are giving away 750 free burritos in Sydney today

No lunch plans today? Ya’ll need to get over to the closest Zambrero store in Sydney today because they plan to give away a total of 750 of their fresh burritos for today only, an effort as part of their Plate 4 Plate initiative. With the aim to help end hunger, the fresh-focused Mexican fast-casual promises to match each giveaway with a donation to someone in need.

“Plate 4 Plate was built into the core of our business to ensure we are giving back and making the world a better place”, said founder, philanthropist and medical doctor Dr Sam Prince, who also owns INDU and Mejico. “15 million meals [what they’ve reached so far] is an incredible milestone and just one stepping stone in our goal to donate a billion meals by 2025”.

The Plate 4 Plate initiative is a constant through Zambrero’s daily operations, meaning that any customer who purchases a burrito or bowl also triggers a donation to someone in need. The meal is made from rice, lentils and soy and invigorated with 23 essential vitamins and nutrients, offered up to communities who then use what local ingredients are available to make meals, primarily via school feeding programs.

Zambrero recently celebrated opening its 150th restaurant in Australia, making for a global total of 165. It’s reason enough to celebrate, but their also approaching their annual volunteer meal packing day as well, an initiative where volunteers and staff pack meals for distribution working with their partners, on October 20th. It will take place across five metro cities in Australia, and more info on that can be found at www.plate4plate.zambrero.com/getinvolved.
