Yoga and Mindfulness festival ‘Wanderlust’ heads to Thredbo with live music from Xavier Rudd and others (NSW)

Thredbo may be an unbeatable town in winter, but its summers are not to be sniffed at, either. This season, along with their current schedule of summer events, they’ll also be hosting Wanderlust, one of the planet’s most popular yoga and mindfulness festivals. From 18th February, Wanderlust will feature 4 days of activities and art, including Meditation and yoga workshops, hula hooping, slack lining and inspirational talks, as well as some live music from the likes of Xavier Rudd & The United Nations.

Known as the largest multi-day yoga event in the world, festival-goers will also be able to hit the great outdoors, enjoying guided hikes, paddle boarding classes, horseback riding and the chance to climb Australia’s highest point, Mt Kosciuszko.

But Wanderlust is more than just a festival for yoga fans. It’s a celebration of wellness and revelling in nature’s beauty, a chance to unwind in Thredbo’s alpine scenery and enjoy true relaxation. It’s the ideal location for the distinctive festival – a chance to get some respite and calm away from the major cities, coupled with the purest air to inspire body, mind and soul.

Guests will be able to partake in activities led by some of the best yoga and meditation instructors, speakers, artists and chefs in the world. Top New York based yoga teacher, Elena Brower, will visit Australia for the first time and share her insightful, candid teachings that will help align your body, mind and heart during her yoga sessions. Other teachers include Briohny & Dice Iida-Klein, otherwise known as Bryce Yoga, with local teachers who are sure to inspire participants and their practice.

Musical guests include some of Australia’s leading musicians such as aforementioned singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd & The United Nations. Festival Director, Jonnie Halstead, says “Xavier personifies what Wanderlust is all about – the perfect fusion of conscious roots, deeper connection and good time summer vibes!”. Other musical guests include Dustin Thomas, delivering his unique mix of beat-box and soul folk tunes, and Didgeridoo dance band Wild Marmalade with DJ Taj Rishid.

Thredbo will be a hive of activity in February, with other events such as the Thredbo Blues Festival and the Snowy Mountains Country Music Festival to create a buzz in the alpine town.

Tickets and the full Wanderlust event schedule are available online. Thredbo is currently offering accommodation packages for Wanderlust guests, with prices starting from $137* per room per night.
