West End’s Lychee Lounge welcomes brand new cocktail and food menu (Brisbane)

It’s been nine months since West End’s long standing cocktail bar, the Lychee Lounge changed hands to new owner Peter Bierton, and he’s ready to show Brisbane he’s got what it takes to run this flagship venue.

As a longtime customer of the previous owner, Peter Bierton has a love for cocktails and big dreams for the Lychee Lounge.  With new manager, Thomas Ham, who has been a part of the Lychee Lounge team for five years, the pair welcome in a fresh season and the latter half of the year with the launch of a brand new cocktail menu.

True to Lychee Lounge’s history, the pair hope to keep the bar on Brisbane’s (sometimes fickle) nightlife map as a haven for cocktail lovers. The new menu now features 39 new cocktails creations as well as the good old classic favourites. New cocktails include the FIGJAM, with House Marinated Turkish Figs, Cognac, Pedro Ximenez, Fresh Apple and Pepper and the Strawberry and Chai Mule with Vodka, Lime, Chai and Strawberry Syrup with Ginger Beer. The revamped cocktail list has been designed to pique its readers’ attention with plenty of unique flavour combinations.

Not to be left out, the food menu has had a makeover too. The bar welcomes a unique tapas menu where almost everything is made in house. The menu ranges from the cheekily named R rated potato porn poms, to handmade dumplings and sizzling king prawns. There’s also a special on Monday nights when you can get a 1KG of chicken wings for $10 with any tap beer purchase.

In the ever popular West End, where the hospitality scene is at its most competitive in Brisbane, the Lychee Lounge has stood the test of time for over 16 years and new owner, Peter Bierton has given plenty of reasons it will be here to stay.
