Urban Purveyor Group announce plans for an Italian restaurant in Sydney

They already have renowned Japanese, French, and German restaurants up and down the east coast of Australia, and now Urban Purveyor Group are seeking to add Italian to the list of cuisines spread across their award-winning restaurants. By mid-2016, the hospitality group that boasts Sake, Ananas Bar & Brasserie, the Bavarian Bier Cafes, and the world-renowned The Argyle, will add Stella Ristorante & Terrazzo to their portfolio, an Italian dining experience at the heart of Northern CBD in the Harry Seidler designed Grosvenor Place.

Stella Ristorante & Terrazzo will be focusing on the flavours of southern Italy, drawing inspiration from the Amalfi Coast and Sicily with wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, and seasonal produce sourced from local farms and Australian waters. There will also be live fire cooking with the wood-fired overs and a grill for simple fish, meat, and vegetable dishes. Features will include an antipasto station offering cucchetti-style small dishes and seating similar to a sushi counter, adding to the easy-going elegance that is consistent across the restaurant’s interior space, expansive al fresco terrace, and large rooftop terrazzo and bar.

“Stella’s pizza offerings will feature classic and modern creations focusing on artisan products sourced from Italian purveyors in Australia. Our house-baked breads will be the perfect start to every meal,” said Martin Heierling, Urban Purveyor Group Culinary Director, “we will honour pure Italian cooking by selecting great products, doing the least amount possible to them and simply bringing out the very best according to Italian tradition.”

Stella won’t be Urban Purveyor Group’s only entry at Grosvenor Place though; the Italian restaurant will be joined by Saké’s first sibling venue, Saké Jr., a small-format, fast fine-casual concept offering healthy, on-the-go, and design-your-own style meals derived from Saké classics with a Korean twist.
