The Time Out Sydney Food Awards are always a reliable slice of what’s hot around the city each year, and with Sydney in particular the voting must have been alarmingly difficult, seeing as we’ve seen some of the strongest openings in recent memory.

To no one’s surprise The Swillhouse Group walked away as the big winners of the night, picking up three awards in total, two for their jaw-dropping Restaurant Hubert (Best Casual Dining Restaurant, Restaurant of the Year) and one for Frankie’s Pizza by the Slice (People’s Choice: Late Night Snack). Other big winners include Surry Hills favourite Nel, which for the second year in a row has picked up People’s Choice Best Restaurant Award, and the unstoppable duo of Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt, who recently added Cirrus to their portfolio of Bentley, Yellow, and Monopole.
