The smooth Festival of Chocolate will return to The Rocks this August (Sydney)

Returning for it’s fourth year of spreading sugar and assorted confectionery fun the smooth Festival of Chocolate will once again take over The Rocks across one weekend in August. Decadent exclusive treats and established favourites will be on show on Sat 12 and Sun 13th August from some of the country’s finest dessert businesses, pastry chefs, chocolatiers and ice creameries keen to showcase their signatures and new creations.

Live demonstrations and chocolate sculptures will help build the atmosphere for sweet treats and kids both little and big roam freely among the set-up, which this year will feature a pop-up espresso martini bar from Mr Black, serving up “espresso jar-tinis” topped with Nutie donuts and a special chocolate ale from Endeavour Beer.

“In 2016 smooth Festival of Chocolate attracted over 120,000 people and this year will be even bigger and better”, said NOVA Entertainment’s Sydney General Manager Luke Minto. “We are delighted to have long term partners Lindt, Callebaut and Knebel Kitchens return, joining some exciting new partners in Piazza D’oro, Mr Black Espresso, Endeavour Beer and Baci Perugina.”

Returning features include The Lindt Lounge with Master Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler, where one may be able to get their hands on Lindt’s new signature “waffles on a stick” dessert as well as indulge in their range of premium chocolates. Joining them will be Callebaut and Knebel Kitchens presenting Callebaut Test Kitchen, which will host some of Australia’s best dessert chefs including Australia’s Queen of Chocolate Kirsten Tibballs, the highly lauded Jean Michel Raynaud of La Renaissance Patisserie, The Rocks and Daria Nechiporenko, the Australian representative for the World Chocolate Masters 2018.

The Chocolatiers’ Quarters will be one of the primary locations for the festival, with various stalls decking out the Cargo Hall at Overseas Passenger Terminal. It’s here where guests will be able to check out a 180 kilo moving chocolate culture, titled “Bone Shaker”, created by chocolate master Dean Gibson.

Over 100 exhibitors will be participating in the free-entry festival, including Gelato Messina, Black Star Pastry, The Original Chocowrap, and Rocco’s Dessert Jars.
