The Rocks’ 12th annual Australian Beer Festival returns this October (Sydney)

12 years in and Australian Beer Festival still remains one of Sydney’s most loved brew-focused events, bringing more than 120 beers and ciders from across the country to the historic surrounds of Cumberland and Gloucester streets in The Rocks. 30 different breweries are on board this year, preparing to set up stalls for the two-and-a-half-day beer bash which will see Sydneysiders and visitors explore the current climate of Australia’s beer and cider scenes.

From Friday 14th through Sunday 16th October, the festival will fill The Australian Heritage Hotel and surrounds with a comprehensive display of craft, putting the breweries alongside gourmet food stalls and live entertainment as well as meet-the-brewer sessions and blind tastings. Attendees will trade the $35 entry price for a tasting cup and their initial 10 tasting tokens so they can pace themselves with some of the best the country has to offer, particularly up and coming boutique breweries including Willie the Boatman, Pirate Life Brewing, Two Birds, and Moo Brew to name a few. As always, all the brewers in attendance will be encouraged to brew a limited edition specialty beer or cider to be served through the weekend, something which always helps when it comes time to decide on the Best Overall Beer, Best Cider, and People’s Choice awards.

In terms of food one can expect The Australian Hotel to once again be pumping out their Gourmet Pizzas while other stalls such as an Oyster Bar from Seabreeze Beach Hotel will keep the options wide.
