The DOG Hotel celebrates one year anniversary with a tap takeover and exclusive brew (Sydney)

The 59-tap craft beer hub that is The DOG Hotel in Randwick is turning a modest one year old next week, and to ones surprise their celebration centres around the ever-popular world of craft beer. Come Friday 9th December, the venue will be turning 16 of their taps over to Sydney Brewery, welcoming in their finest drops until its all sold out.

By finest drops we mean the likes of Surry Hills Pils, the Darlo Dark, the Glamarama Summer Ale, Sydney Cider, and of course the Alter Ego Oatmeal Stout. There’s even going to a special one-off collaboration brew with the team, a Light Rail Ale named after the suburb’s future transport links and crafted as an American-style steam ale with a light fruity body that’s clean, crisp and very approachable. That one will be available at $5 per schooner all day long.

Head brewer Michael Capaldo will even be showing out on the day, walking around the venue from 6pm ready to discuss brews and give any advice to aspiring brewers.

The bar will also be offering a wide variety of other specials on the day, including their popular Paddo Pale for $6.50 a schooner, $8 a pint or $16 a jug. Between 4pm and 6pm, their Coogee Kolsch will be 4 bucks a schooner.

Other specials throughout the day will include the Paddo Pale for $6.50 a schooner, $8 a pint or $16 a jug, as well as $4 schooners of Coogee Kolsch from 4-6pm.
