Sydneysiders can get their mouths around coffee-infused fried chicken this weekend

It’s always a good time when an established brand reaches out to some of Sydney’s finest to do a collaboration. It often leads to inventive franken-foods, and this one right here is absolutely no exception. The brand is Nespresso. The Sydney vendor is “sneaker ‘n’ fried chicken” shop Butter. The collaboration: well, the headline says it all – it’s some god damn coffee-infused fried chicken.

The treasured Surry Hills chicken shop will play host to Nespresso in order to help promote the brand’s new, smallest ever, machine The Essenza Mini. It’s a task which 2015 Young Australian Chef of the Year Julian Cincotta is more than ready for as he introduces a coffee-infused menu for a very limited time. How limited? You’ve only got from now until Sunday 16th April to get across it.

“This collaboration celebrates everything that young people love”, said Cincotta. “Think quality coffee, fried chicken, hip hop and sneakers…although fried chicken and coffee doesn’t seem like a traditional pairing, the aromatic notes, flavours and quality of the various Nespresso coffees allowed us to create a really exciting food experience”.

Leading the till-Sunday menu is some delicious sounding Sweet & Sticky Coffee-Glazed Chicken Tenders, making use of Nespresso Rosabaya de Colombia Grand Cru coffee. There’s also a Chicken Burger served with coffee mayo (!!!), made from Nespresso Arpeggio Grand Cru coffee. Then for dessert you’ve got Coffee & Icing Sugar Dusted Donuts, using Nespresso Rosabaya.

There’s even a drink on the menu, and instead of going the typical Espresso Martini route, Butter has gone with a Nespresso Martini Slushie, using Nespresso Ristretto Decaffeinato Grand Cru coffee.

Those wanting more can also order a complimentary Nespresso coffee with the menu to round out their coffee experience.
