Sydney’s new pop-up cafe is dedicated entirely to the humble avocado

After similar pop-ups in New York and Amsterdam, an avocado cafe has made Sydney it’s temporary home with designs to serve exclusively avocado creations for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout November. Good Fat by Australian Avocados, which opens today on Crown Street in Surry Hills, is being fronted by Sydney chef Liam Crawley who has created a menu of 20 dishes based on every potential home buyer’s achilles’ heel used in various ways.

“This menu is an avo lover’s dream with each dish showcasing the versatility and wonderful, creamy texture of the delicious avocado”, said Crawley. “Best of all, it’s affordable. All meals will be under $20 and we’ll be sharing the recipes so customers can recreate the dishes at home – proof you can eat smashed-avo and save for a home too”.

Avo lovers can expect desserts like an AvoConetto ice cream and a breakfast smoothie served in avocado skin. There’s also smashed avo and vegemite on sourdough toast; a grilled thick cut avo and melted brie cheese toastie; chunky smashed avo with poached eggs and baby herbs; golden crumbed fried avo balls with bacon, tender chicken thigh, potato, mozzarella and sriracha; sweet miso and wasabi glazed pork cutlet with finely chopped avo, mango, red onion, coriander salsa and spring leaves; and seared beef eye fillet with chunky avo, tarragon and lemon bearnaise salsa.
