The iconic Sydney Fish Market will be hosting their very first Chinese New Year Night Market to welcome the Year of the Dog in February. Set for one night only, on Sunday 16th February, the entire site will be transformed into a bright, multi-coloured Night Market with red hanging lanterns illuminating the boardwalk and Chinese inspired food offerings offered out all across the famous arcade.
Locals and visitors will be welcomed down as the market stays open until 10pm on the day, offering everything from Yum Cha and Chinese cuisine at the on-site licensed restaurants to fresh and cooked seafood from the many retailers that make Sydney Fish Market what it is. That means you can dig into whole fish, crabs, lobsters, seafood barbecues, fresh shucked-to-order oysters, fruit, desserts and vegetables as the whole space lights up with the festive spirit of CNY.
Each year Sydney Fish Market cites Chinese New Year as one of it’s busiest days so it’s likely this will be a very popular event. We suggest getting there early (it opens from 4pm) to settle in for the night.
