Sydney City Limits announces a huge food program curated by the team behind Mary’s

As the February 2018 debut of new festival Sydney City Limits edges closer, the experience in store for ticket-holders is beginning to take shape. We already know that the day will be stacked with quality live music from both international and local acts, spanning everyone from EDM wizards Justice and pop legend Grace Jones to indie icon Beck and Australia’s inimitable Gang of Youths. Now a bunch of rock stars from the local culinary scene are set to join the line-up, curated by the beloved team of Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham (Mary’s, The Lansdowne, The Unicorn).

Smyth and Graham have a sumptuous feast in store for Sydney City Limits, pulling together a menu that includes pasta from Fratelli Paradiso, porchetta rolls from D’Orazio, a full wood-fired grill from Porteno, fried chicken and poutine from Hartsyard, vegan Mexican from Bad Hombres, ramen from Rising Sun Workshop, fish & chips from Fat Fish, Korean bowls from Paper Bird, coffee from Artificer, Sri Lankan street food from O Tama Carey, and burgers from – you guessed it – Mary’s.

“As born and bred Sydney-siders, we are as proud as punch to be the food and booze co-conspirators for the first ever Sydney City Limits…what a goddamn honour”, said Smyth and Graham. “We will be bringing the very fucking best of our vibrant and diverse food scene – throwing the net further than the usual inner-city limits. This festival [is going to be a] celebration of its host city, and we plan to celebrate Sydney with all our naughty little hearts”.

In addition to the above, Smyth and Graham will be transposing their famed gastropub The Unicorn and reimagining it to cater for the pint-sized party people at Kiddy City Limits, which is the festival’s curated program of activities, workshops and kid-friendly meals on site.

There will also be even more food stalls and food truck pop-ups announced ahead of the festival, also aiming to highlight Sydney neighbourhood favourites to make this festival a true celebration of the local scene.

Sydney City Limits, which is Australia’s forthcoming sister festival to the legendary Austin City Limits in Texas, will be happening on 24th February 2018. For the full-line up and more details head to their official website HERE.
