Sunrise Asian opens restaurant and retail store in Elizabeth Bay (Sydney)

If you have ever wondered where some of Sydney’s top Chefs – like Neil Perry and Martin Benn – source some of their fine produce you would be directed towards Sunrise Asian, a decade-long “chef’s secret” and stalwart supplier of fine Asian ingredients and varieties in Australia. The reliable business has now opened up a restaurant and retail store in picturesque suburb Elizabeth Bay, showcasing all that highly sought-after produce, all used to create a variety of dishes from pastas and curries to baked goods and ice cream.

Obviously a team that knows how to best handle Asian food, this is an exciting opening for food-lovers around Sydney as Sunrise Asian’s first ever café and restaurant promises a very varied look into the diverse and beautiful food culture across Asia and other parts of the world, from Thai, Vietnamese, to even Italian inspired dishes.

Owner and founder Fiat Malaniyom brings experience from working all around Thailand and Australia, channeling all he has learnt into leading the kitchen along with HEad Chef Fiona Hatchett, who is best known from her role at Jimmy Liks for 13 years. The menu they have put together will change regularly to best showcase the produce of the day, delivering signature dishes like Green Mango & Papaya Salad with prawn floss, Shiso & Betel Leaf Wagyu Beef Parcels, fresh Snapper Khao Soi, Linguini with oritz and saltbush, and Scallop, Fresh Water Chestnut, and Lily Buds Dumplings with black vinegar dressing. There will also be set menu options for dinner.

Fresh produce used in the kitchen will include adored ingredients like green mangoes, zucchini flowers, pomelo, and heirloom tomatoes, and rarities like white turmeric, shiso leaf, torch ginger, and land seaweed, sourced from all across Australia, as well as their own Sydney kitchen garden.
