Sunday Sunset Sessions return to Fort Denison (Sydney)

Island dining destination Fort Denison Restaurant has nodding to the arrival of summer by bringing back their popular Sunday Sunset Session series, giving the public one of the best options possible for a day spent making full use of the island’s stunning views. From now until at least the end of January the series will see water taxis regularly ferrying people over from Circular Quay, granting them access to the famed fortress island with drinks, dining, live music, and even a tour through the numerous historic buildings which are part of this unique perspective.

The restaurant, which has been named one of the top five waterfront restaurants in the world, will offer guests a 2 course à la carte menu with the session, bringing them entree options like kingfish carpaccio or lamb short ribs with pomegranate and mint and mains such as Wagyu beef cheeks or Muscovy duck breasts. After dinner a selection of desserts will be served, and sunset cocktails can be had throughout.

Then comes sun down, which brings out live music on the Fort’s foredeck, tunes such as those provided by local resident DJ and saxophonist Zak Hameiri who is returning to the series to help soundtrack the views with acid jazz and vintage R&B.

Tickets for the sessions will be priced at $105pp and include the two-course meal, a chartered return water taxi, National Parks entry fee, and a mini tour of the Martello Tower on the island.
