SoCal Hardware: SoCal is popping up in Bondi Hardware for this month only (Sydney)

Applejack Hospitality are mashing up two of their most popular bars for a month-long pop up this September. Their wildly popular over-the-bridge Neutral Bay bar SoCal will be scraping together all their Mexican and Cali inspired share plates, tacos, quesadillas, ceviches, mezcals, and tequilas and heading east, unloading it all at the equally busy Bondi Hardware to create – yep, you guessed it – SoCal Hardware.

From 3rd September up until the end of the month, the SoCal team will be pumping their lively produce from the by-the-beach bar, particularly showcasing it all through daily specials such as Mezcal Mondays and Cali Shack Weekends. Take a look at the list of daily specials below to wrap your head around it all.

  • Mezcal Mondays – Mezcal Margies, Mezcal Negroni’s, Mezcal Old Fashioneds for $12
  • Taco Tuesdays – $4 taco’s
  • Wing Wednesdays – $1 wings
  • Tequila Thursdays – Tequila everything. Tequila infused dishes, drinks, and desserts
  • Cali Shack on Friday (from 3pm) – coronas, pacificos, margies, and tommy’s
  • Cali Shack on Saturdays (from 12) – $35 win by the bottle – rose, white, and red
  • Siesta Sundays – $8 bloody marys and bloody marias; $30 rose’ sangria carafes

In addition to the above, both venues – SoCal and SoCal Bondi Hardware – will be hosting a hot wings eating competition on Wednesday 28th September, aiming to see who can eat the most wings with the winner scoring a free dinner, that is, a $200 voucher to either venue. Those interested can pre-register by e-mailing either [email protected] or [email protected].

After all this is over, SoCal will be heading on back to just Neutral Bay but not before leaving a firm stamp on Bondi Hardware, inspiring the long standing Bondi Beach bar to adopt a more laid back, Southern California vibe which will be unveiled after a short renovation period.
