Royal Stacks are launching a “create your own burger” smartphone game

Having expanded to Sydney earlier this year, Melbourne born cult burger joint Royal Stacks are capping off a very successful year by launching their very own smartphone game, by which users will be able to create their own burgers and earn points to pick up freebies in store. The game is simply named “Royal Stacks” and will hit the iTunes app store from Friday 2nd December; anyone who downloads the game while physically in any Royal Stacks restaurants on launch day will be eligible for a serving of fries, on the house.

“I wanted to combine my two passions, burgers and gaming, while also interacting with our customers and offering more than the traditional dining experience”, said owner Dani Zeini. “People earn points in the game to get freebies, which is a nice way to reward our loyal customers. The game provides some Tetris nostalgia where it’s a race against time to keep stacking”.

The free-to-download Royal Stacks game will play similar to a classic stacker, where players will be required to stack the ingredients of a burger onto a bread bun while trying to balance it so the pieces don’t fall off the edge and topple the entire burger. Stages will be fashioned as burgers from the actual Royal Stacks menu, with players tasked to build everything from a Single Stack to The King.

PlaySide Studios helped Zeini put it all together, a crew of Melbourne-based developers who are best known for their work on games like Batman v Superman and Tennis Bits, for which they recently won the Excellence in Design accolade at the Australian Game Developer Awards.
