Renowned Italian restaurant Machiavelli expands to Sydney International Airport T1 with Mach2

Popular Sydney restaurant Machiavelli has long stood as an institution for lovers of good Italian food and drink, and after all these years the owners have finally expanded their reach within the city, opening up a sister restaurant at a very unexpected location. Titled Mach2, the stylish new Italian venture has become the newest opening at Sydney International Airport T1 by Airport Retail Enterprises.

Located land-side, behind counter H, Mach2 is now open and serving up big, bold Italian dishes to travelers both inbound and outbound, adding a necessary dining experience to the constantly evolving airport. The casual space is completed with an open kitchen, in which some of Australia’s leading chefs will be creating dishes like the infamous Machiavelli Pork & Veal Meatballs which lie on a bed of fresh, hand-made pasta.

Portraits of The Beatles and Alfred Hitchcock landing at Sydney International Airport are among the portraits which line the walls of Mach2, officially blending the Machiavelli touch in with the new location.

“Bringing unique and new experiences to the savvy traveller is what we are passionate about”, said Airport Retail Enterprise CEO John Chapman, “partnering with high profile bars and restaurants around Australia like Mach2 offers a point of difference and undoubtedly enhances the overall passenger experience at T1.”
