René Redzepi is bringing his MAD Symposium to Sydney Opera House with David Chang, Kylie Kwong, and more (Sydney)

By all accounts, René Redzepi’s hugely popular (it was completely booked out within a matter of seconds) Noma Australia at Barangaroo has been worth the hype, and not only has delivered some incredibly delicious and singular food, but has also inspired diners and chefs alike to be more adventurous when it comes to thinking about and handling local produce. While praise continues to roll out for the pop-up restaurant, the world-famous and highly influential Chef has announced that, for the first time outside of Copenhagen, he will be bringing his MAD Symposium concept to the Sydney Opera House.

Set for one full day on April 3rd, the TED-talk like food festival will be bringing international and local speakers together to discuss, analyse, dissect, educate, and inspire. Confirmed speakers so far include symposium regulars David Chang (of Momofuku), African farmer, campaigner, and educator Chudo Govera, Chef Massimo Bottura of Italy’s famous Osteria Francescana (2nd on the ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list’), Australian author and social researcher Rebecca Huntley, and celebrated local Chef Kylie Kwong.

One of the aims of MAD Symposium is to engage food professionals and the general public on numerous perspectives that relate to food and culture, encouraging attendees to then take that knowledge to their kitchens and communities to reflect on what they have seen and heard.

More speakers and details will be confirmed closer to the date.

Tickets to the event will go on sale from HERE on Tuesday 9th February, 2016. To stay up to date with the event check them on Facebook HERE.
