Gin heavyweight Bombay Sapphire have teamed up with Sydney’s Botanic Gardens Restaurant to create the Project Botanicals Dinner Party Series, a food and cocktail pairing event which, though sold out, has extended to host an open-air gin garden pop-up bar. These public events start from Thursday 2nd March, and will run Thursday to Sunday evenings from 2nd until 12th March.
Both the dinner party, which features the ten botanicals of Bombay Sapphire, and the pop-up bar, will be located at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The location sets the scene for a perfect Sydney-esque experience, set in prime position overlooking the city’s famed harbour.
The pop-up bar will showcase a selection of cocktails using Bombay Sapphire gin, created by mixologists from some of the city’s best bars like The Rook, 360 Bar & Dining and The Barber Shop, offering cocktails at $12 each while DJs and live bands take care of the atmosphere.
The Botanic Gardens Restaurant features its original 19th Century facade but also boasts a cool modern interior, wide verandas with garden and harbour views.
The collaboration with Bombay Sapphire Vapour Infused Gin is a means to highlight the beverage’s unique taste in various forms. Developed from a secret 1761 recipe, the gin’s distinct “Vapour Infusion process”, where the ten botanicals used in the gin are held separate from the spirit in perforated copper baskets, allows for a fresher, aromatic taste.
