Primus Hotel Sydney is doing high tea with a dude food twist (Sydney)

Art-deco CBD property Primus Hotel Sydney have just recently switched up their offerings at adjoining restaurant The Wilmot, and now they have put the finishing touches on their latest high tea menu, going for a bit of a dude food twist and calling it The G’N’Tea (Gentleman’s High Tea).

Though they’ve already got tradition covered with The Wilmot High Tea (complete with mini wagon wheels and white chocolate scones), the G’N’Tea opts for a more unconventional approach, showcasing Executive Chef Ryan Hong’s reinterpretation of the classic High Tea experience with savourys like Wagyu Sliders, Pork Steam Buns, and Beef & Burgundy Pies dished up a heavyweight board in the stylish surrounds of the hotel’s grand lobby, illustrated by eight-metre high marble columns and a theatrical glass sky-well.

Sinking into a plush velvet sofas with a Godfather Cocktail (Amaretto, American Whisky or 339 Julip (American Whisky, yuzu juice, agave nectar, lemon, and mint) while digging into this anti-sandwich high tea seems like a good way to turn the popular High Tea experience on its head, though the organisers aren’t game on leaving out the key ingredient: tea. A premium selection of teas – including Bombay Chai and African Solstice – are available with the menu.

The High Tea, which can also be hosted in the dark wood surrounds of The Wilmot, is available seven days a week from 3pm to 5pm, starting from $45pp with the option to include a glass of Chandon or beer for $55, or a flute of Veuve Clicquot/cocktail for $65.
