Neil Perry to debut Burger Project Black Label with premium burgers in Sydney

Neil Perry and Rockpool Dining Group are taking a huge step for their beloved Burger Project with the launch of the very first Burger Project Black Label, an expression of the burger chain which is – as you can tell from the name – a much more premium version of the concept. To give you an idea of what to expect from the new Sydney restaurant, Perry is putting his famous Rockpool Bar & Grill Wagyu Burger on the menu, paying homage to the origins of Burger Project.

Burger Project Black Label will be introducing deluxe versions of the existing range, with likely options including Texas BBQ beef, deep-south crispy chicken, falafel and crumbed fish fillet burgers, and more. A range of sauces, spices, slaws and other components will also be included, with a strong focus on sustainable and locally-sourced ingredients. Rounding out the menu will be plenty of salads, sides, dips, sodas, craft beers, wines, cocktails, whiskies, and shakes (some spiked), while there will also be a swanky breakfast option with premium Sydney roaster Mecca Coffee and local artisan baker Sonoma on board to help bolster the menu.

“Burger Project is a proven brand, which is supported by a positive growth outlook for the overall burger category in Australia”, said Rockpool Dining Group CEO Thomas Pash. “We’re excited about the new developments that we’re bringing to this dynamic part of Sydney’s dining scene, including a super-premium burger range in a casual setting and a fabulous breakfast offering that heroes Sydney producers”.

Burger Project Black Label is expected to open late May at Grosvenor Place, 225 George Street, Sydney in the space that once was Sake Jr.
