A globe-trotting coffee menu defines new Crows Nest roster Monte Alto, who offering a “Round the World” coffee experience which also explores different ways a well-made cuppa can be served. Focusing on the distinctive differences between the likes of an Austrian wiener melange, American red eye, Portuguese mazagran, Vietnamese ca phe sua da and others, the roasted-on-site selection of coffee looks to provide enthusiasts and casual sippers with a great insight into how diverse this caffeinated world really is.
Everything from Hong Kong’s yang yang to Germany’s eiskaffee can be ordered up from Monte Alto, a generously sized shop run by owner Harry Nguyen who takes great pride in having the only venue in Crows Nest to roast their coffee on-site and incorporate into both their food and drink menus.
“Our team has a great love of coffee and we are obsessed with finding new and interesting ways to incorporate it into our offering at Monte Alto”, explained Harry. “We have a 12-hour coffee rub pork at the moment which is amazing. In addition the Round the World coffee menu we offer other specialty coffees such as Bulletproof Coffee for the gym junkies and an Espresso Spritzer which has been pretty popular [given] the recent heat in Sydney.”
Italian and Vietnamese influences are found all through the food menu, the team having met whilst they worked at dining empire Fratelli Fresh before deciding to carve their own lane on the scene. Expect breakfast dishes like Banana Bread with espresso butter, as well as lunch and dinner options like Wagyu Meatball Spaghetti and Vietnamese Chicken Salad.
