Mio Locale introduces hearty Italian Sunday feasts to Brunswick Street (Melbourne)

Starting from 17th July, on the last Sunday of each month, Mio Locale will be hosting a special four course Sunday Feast lunch event. Located on the quieter end of Melbourne’s lively Brunswick Street, Mio Locale is a family run café serving Italian and Mediterranean influenced cuisine.

Mio Locale’s new Sunday Feast lunch events are a tribute to the childhood memories of sibling owners Emily and Maurice Paladino, who spent every Sunday cooking up and eating a delicious lunch with family and friends. Priced at $45/person, excluding drinks, each Sunday Feast will have a specific theme and feature dishes made from traditional family recipes handed down to Emily and Maurice, from their nonna.

The theme for the first Sunday Feast is ‘La cucina povera’, a term used to describe the humble cooking of Italy’s rural and urban working class families.  The lunch, which will be held from 1-3pm, will feature Southern Italian dishes such as; Salumi Misti – housemade salami, cheese and pickled vegetables, Pasta e Fagioli – pasta with beans and Crispelli – peasant doughnuts.

Since their opening back in late 2014, Mio Locale have been proud supporters of local and organic produce. As a result, the family run café’s menu is constantly changing with the seasons.
