Not content on letting anyone else steal the spotlight at this year’s Night Noodle Markets in Sydney, Messina have went and flipped some classic Japanese dishes into masterful dessert creations. It’s no surprise of course, Messina are always pumping out these new and exclusive desserts for huge events like NNM, but this year is on a whole new level. In fact, they’ve made a total of four exclusives for their Hyde Park stall this month. So let’s get to them shall we.
First is the Kamikaze Katsu Sandwich, which is what you get when these dessert geniuses coat a slice of sudachi lime gelato in red velvet cake and panko crumbs before deep frying it then covering it with a light drizzle of yuzu sauce and sandwiching it all between two pieces of white bread.
Next up you’ve got the Aunty Tomsu’s Cheesecake, another take on a Japanese classic which is a traditional Japanese cheesecake with strawberry & cherry blossom cream, strawberry meringue and…strawberries & cream gelato. Can your jaw get any lower? It sure can; next up is the O-No-Giri, green tea gelato and pistachio mousse that has been dipped in white chocolate and rice bubbles. Oh, and don’t forget the I think I’m Turning Sesame, which is black sesame gelato, condensed milk coffee jelly, miso crunch, banana miso bread, vanilla cream and coffee powder. All desserts are going for $12 each.
Ain’t that something? Make sure you head along to Night Noodle Markets and plough through this menu before Night Noodle Markets are over for another year. You can find out more information about the Messina menu and its exclusives HERE.
Not in Sydney? Messina have indicated that they’ll be rolling this menu out for other Night Noodle Markets in Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane throughout the next 12 months. More information on Good Food Month can be found HERE.
