Melbourne’s award-winning Dog Lovers Show returns to Royal Exhibition Building this weekend

An entire weekend of everything dog. Sound good? It certainly does. The multi award-winning Melbourne Dog Lovers Show is once again set to take over Royal Exhibition Building for the 7th year in a row, bringing with it an enormously comprehensive showcase highlighting and celebrating everything about one of the most lovable things on planet earth.

Starting on Friday 5th and stretching to Sunday 7th May, the Melbourne dog Lovers Show brings in a line-up that includes Dr Katrina Warren & the Wonderdogs putting on a show with Dr Harry Cooper, as well as renowned Hollywood animal trainer Peta Clarke and the Australian Working Dog Rescue International, with the aim of educating, entertaining and engaging an expected crowd of over 30,000 dog lovers.

There’ll be plenty of programs to enjoy across the weekend, including a high-energy aquatic long jump as part of “DockDogs”; the Gen-Y essential of an “Insta-Pooch Zone”, where folk can snap selfies with some of the country’s most famous and notable canine Insta-stars; a “Rescue Dog Zone” which will maintain a commitment to raising awareness for adoption and helping hundreds of rescue dogs to find suitable homes; the “Australian Hero Dog Tribute”, where the skills of incredible working and military, therapy and assistance dogs will be showcased and celebrated; “Royal Canine Area” with demonstrations from exceptionally talented dogs; “KONG Celebrity Stage” with live demos, talks and reliable advice; a “Breed Showcase” with over 40 breeds of all shapes and sizes (cuddling allowed and encouraged); and the essential “Pat-A-Pooch Zone”
