Luna Park’s Tango Train set to take its final trip (Sydney)

Luna Park Sydney is inviting guests aboard it’s beloved, very long standing ride, The Tango Train, to celebrate it’s 36 year run at the theme park before it’s laid to rest and replaced by a fresh new attraction. Registered guests can enjoy a free ride and a special commemorative memento on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of April.

Guests can also add a personal touch by voting for a Spotify playlist to accompany the Tango Train’s last days, so you can ride around blasting 50 Cent or something. Sessions are limited so don’t forget to register at lunaparksydney.com.

It may be a sad farewell, but fans should not fret as Luna Park’s Marketing Manager, Brendan Biddell says an exciting, yet to be announced, new installation will replace the Tango Train.

“The Tango Train is a favourite of Luna Park’s many visitors, so we wanted to give it the send-off it deserves.. We’re also looking forward to announcing the Train’s replacement in the coming weeks, ” Biddell said.

Created in Germany in 1980, and arriving in Australia shortly after, the Tango train toured the country in fairs and festivals until 1988. It was then housed in Sydney’s Darling Harbour as the Disco Train, until 1995 when Luna Park Sydney purchased and refurbished it, transforming it into the Tango Train it has been well-known as for the past 21 years.
