After debuting earlier this year in Sydney’s Chifley Plaza, Luke Mangan’s burger restaurant Chicken Confidential has officially expanded into Sydney Airport’s T1 International casual dining precinct. Now part of the slow-but-sure evolution of the airport’s dining scene, the casual gourmet burger joint from the renowned chef sticks to the original’s standard of using certified organic and free-range Inglewood Chicken to produce various international flavour combinations, placing a focus on specific Australian produce at the forefront of the menu.
Those looking to grab a bite before their flight can expect various options throughout the day, ranging from a breakfast burger with sausage, bacon, fried egg, avo, tomato, lettuce and kimchi mayo, to lunch and dinner essentials like the signature Korean “Gangnam Style” burger, also making use of the spicy kimchi mayo, the Southern-fried organic chicken burger, and the “Big Cheese” beef burger. There’s also plenty of organic fried drums, tenders and wings on the menu, available in a three-piece or six-piece bucket. Vegetarians are also catered for with a portobello mushroom burger that features mozzarella, caramelised onion, tomato, lettuce and raita.
Chicken Confidential marks Mangan’s third restaurant at Sydney Airport, although it’s his first before customs. Both Coast Cafe & Bar and Bridge Bar remain after-customs favourites for international travellers.
