Leichhardt’s Capricco Osteria announces regional dinner series (Sydney)

Leichhardt’s popular modern Italian restaurant Capriccio Osteria will begin a new series of regional dinners from Tuesday 3rd May, scheduling five-course dining experiences for the first Tuesday of every month, from May until August. Co-owner Matteo Galletto and Chef Bryan Gerlini have designed the dinners towards food and wine pairings which highlight a specific region each time, while a special guest from the respective regions will host the events to add some insight, appreciation, and anecdotes about their home.

Each dinner will be set at a very reasonable $65 which includes a five-course sharing menu and matching wines, setting out on a comprehensive culinary journey up and down Italy. The first stop, on Tuesday 3rd May, will be the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy, its rich gastronomy highlighted by the night’s host, Piero Tantini, who is a specialist from Italian wine importers, Godot Wines. Emilia-Romagna is best known for being the birthplace of Parmigiano-Reggiano, prosciutto di Parma, balsamic vinegar, and tortellini.

Other dinners planned throughout the year include eye-opening looks at Sardegna, the Amalfi Coast, and Liguria. For full details you can check the schedule below:
