Fresh from opening up his second store for Koi in Ryde, former MasterChef favourite Reynold Poernomo has just announced a pretty damn tempting collaboration with KitKat. Taking inspiration from there experimental KitKat Chocolatory range, Reynold has crafted an exquisite, limited edition chocolate dessert going by the name of KitKat Secret Garden, and he’s going to be serving it up from Koi Dessert Bar in Chippendale.
“After spending the day at the KitKat Chocolatory, letting my imagination run wild with the flavour blends and trying the new KitKat range, I was instantly inspired to take on the challenge of using all three flavours to create KitKat Secret Garden”, explained the celebrated chef. “After experimental with the flavour combinations, I’m proud to have crafted an intricate and delicate dessert that fuses all three flavours together”.
The “three flavours” Reynold refers to are pulled straight from the new range: Mint Cream & Cookie Smash, Caramel Burst & Sea Salt and Espresso Biscuit & Ganache. All three have been combined, resulting in a dessert which features a large gold-dusted chocolate sphere, containing inside a densely layered mix of fresh mint gel, mint cream and cookie smash mousse, and a chocolate ganache nest. Cracking open the chocolate outer shell also reveals pieces of KitKat’s caramel burst and sea salt flavour. The dessert is then finished off with a serving of KitKat espresso biscuit and ganache gelato with nitrogen mousse and micro mint and chocolate crumble.
KitKat Secret Garden limited edition desserts are available at KOI Dessert Bar in Chippendale from 18 May until 15 June, 2017 for $15.
