Kitchen by Mike, Kensington Street Social, Nel, and more on line-up for Taste of Sydney 2016

Following teasers of what’s to come, Taste of Sydney has today announced one of their biggest restaurant line-ups in the festival’s history, bringing in some of the most exciting new restaurants in Sydney to showcase at the four-day event. From Thursday 10th March to Sunday 13th March at Centennial Parklands, ToS will be tasking Sydney’s best new and established restaurants to dish up some of their most creative meals for festivalgoers, who will have access to all dishes alongside a series of outdoor masterclasses, cooking demos, and food & drink pop ups.

Heading along this year will be the likes of Mike McEnearney who will be resurrecting his popular Kitchen By Mike canteen for the festival, the acclaimed team behind Three Blue Ducks who will recreate their Byron Bay venue ‘Three Blue Duck at the Farm’ with a unique pop-up selling local produce and flowers, Nelly Robinson who will be serving up mod-Australia dishes from his inventive nel., Stephen Seckold, coming on board with his modern-day noodle bar Salaryman, Julian Cincotta with new Fried Chicken haunt Butter, and Rob Daniels bringing a showcase from Chippendale’s newest restaurant Kensington Street Social, from British Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton

Joining the newbies will be returning Taste favourites like Otto Ristorante with modern Italian, Porteno with their signature Argentinean style dishes, and one-hatted gem 4Fourteen. These established restaurants will be serving up dishes alongside previously announced restaurants: MoVida, Biota Dining, Saké Restaurant & Bar and Thievery.

Peter Gilmore (Quay), Rob Cockerill (Bennelong), and Nelly Robinson (nel.) will be each hosting intimate masterclass experiences at the Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets tent, presenting communal table dining experiences with matched wines. Other sessions include Knife Master Classes by the likes of James Viles (Biota) and Wayne Brown (Sake) which will teach guests various skills like “how to fillet a fish” and “how to chop an onion”; cake decorating classes; beef and lamb classes by BeefandLamb.com.au; sushi and sashimi lessons; cheese making workshops; pizza aerobatics; and more.

Optus also joins Taste as a partner for the first time as it showcases the next evolution of its contactless payment system, Cash by Optus, and its new payment accessories range which includes bands and stickers.
