Jupiters continue transition into The Star Gold Coast with two new dining experiences

For the past few years, locals and visitors have been watching Jupiters Gold Coast stand at the forefront of an enormous wave of change for the area. 2015 and 2016 especially have seen the tourist destination take on a dramatic evolution ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, from artists taking over nearby hotels to a plethora of new dining and drinking hot spots, many of which have opened at the Broadbeach property and have quickly become invaluable to the scene. Specifically, these have been Chase Kojima’s Kiyomi, breezy Italian restaurant Cucina Vivo, and lush ground-floor eatery Garden Kitchen & Bar.

Now Jupiters have unveiled the next layer of the property’s landmark $345 million redevelopment, adding another two dining outlets with Mei Wei Dumplings and M&G Café and Bar. Expanding the culinary range further, these newly opened additions are focused on a more relaxed and streamlined dining experience for visitors and guests, pushing Jupiters further as it morphs into what will be The Star Gold Coast come early 2017.

The focus for Mei Wei dumplings is obvious, promising high quality dumplings and noodles for both dine-in and takeaway, blending Mandarin and Cantonese flavours. For those who choose to sit and stay, the most eye-catching feature will likely be the 2.6 metre viewing panel which has been set up in front of a specialised dumpling assembly area, allowing guests to watch chefs as they craft the menu onsite daily. Though that design feature may have some stiff competition from a vibrant wall piece which is being described as a modern interpretation of Hong Kong’s famous hawker lanes.

The menu itself has seen 120 new ingredients added to the property’s range, used in more than 50 menu options that include prawn dumplings, mini soup buns, and a Shanghai noodle dish with Taiwanese style beef.

Popping up next door, M&G Café and Bar has been designed as a sleek, classic cafe with menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, ranging from poached pear to reuben sandwiches. The ever so reliable Luchetti Krelle have taken care of the design, reshaping the space that formerly hosted Spinners.

More changes are on the horizon for Jupiters ahead of 2018. Their popular Atrium Bar will be sporting a new look, the defining 2,612 square metre sail roof will be replaced, and all 600 rooms will be refurbished by early 2017. Of course this is in addition to the biggest leap forward, which will be a new luxury six-star tower that will start to take shape at the front of the property through next year, aiming for an opening before the Commonwealth Games. There are also a few others things in the cards, including another $500 million residential and hotel tower which was approved this week.
