InterContinental Sydney Double Bay reopens lush rooftop lounge bar to the public

Now that Spring is officially here, it’s time for Sydney’s big, beautiful rooftop pools to come out of hibernation and start preparing for an influx of sun-soaking Sydneysiders. InterContinental Sydney Double Bay are able to take that a step further thanks to their luxurious pool-side The Rooftop bar, which is home to a stunning, spacious infinity pool overlooking Sydney Harbour and Double Bay with sweeping panoramic views. The team will once again be opening this glitzy rooftop to the public come October 1st, providing access to locals, visitors, and hotel guests until April 2017.

Outside of these dates the rooftop remains exclusive to hotel guests, filling the rest of us with envy, since even in winter the prospect of chilling out on one of those fancy blue and white striped cabana lounges and sipping on classic cocktails is dream-worthy. Now that the exclusivity period is (sort of) over, members of the general public can head up to the sixth floor of this stylish property and spend their spring and summer days at the bar sipping on summer cocktails like the signature Bayside Martini and soak in that unrivaled perspective of Double Bay. For those heading up for a nibble, there’s also some charcuterie, oysters, sliders, and even salted-caramel filled doughnuts on the menu.

There is one big catch though. In-house guests will still have exclusive access to the pool, while members of the general public will have to settle for the bar and that stunning view. Access will be provided daily from 12pm to just after sunset. Guests will be seated on a first come, first serve basis, and despite prior belief – there is no minimum spend for The Rooftop bar*.

Those wishing to have a staycation at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay should head to the hotel’s official website HERE.
