Icebergs are throwing an essential pasta lovers dinner highlighting various regions of Italy (Sydney)

Bondi institution Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is planning a very special Assaggini di Pasta menu for offer before this month is through, presenting guests with a six-course pasta tasting feast that promises a stroll through the many regions of Italy, with paired wines from natural wine producers. Given Monty Koludrovic and his kitchen team regularly pump out some of the best pasta in the area, we think it’s safe to say this one is essential for lovers of great Italian food, especially ones who realise just how distinctive the country’s regions are in terms of produce and technique.

“Pasta is just one a few true icons of Italian cooking and cultural sensibility”, said Monty. “It speaks of the culture in a language no just relating to what is eaten. It can be comforting. It can be shared. It can be clever. It can be so, so simple”

The menu, offered on Thursday 29th June, will be featuring dishes such as fregola with chilled shellfish, sorrel and caviar; fazoletti filled with winter veggies and truffle; spaghetti with spanner crab, garlic, chilli, parsley and lemon; house-made gnocchi with David Blackmore wagyu tail; and desserts like a chestnut and amaretto cream served with green apple and chocolate.

The one-night-only dinner is set at $130pp (matching wines extra $70) and will be available from 6pm on the day.
