Harry’s Bondi turns the tide with brand new breakfast and lunch menus (Sydney)

Harry’s Bondi is known as one of the very best casual dining spots in Sydney’s east, constantly packed full of locals and visitors and amassing a loyal following many similar venues only dream of. From humble days as an overworked coffee bar in the corner of a convenience store, the venue has evolved into a full bar and dining format, and for the first time since its substantial rebirth last year, the kitchen has given a big refresh to their both their breakfast and lunch menus.

Owner Harry Lambropoulos and his business partner Christopher Karvelas have maintained that charming commitment to healthy, delicious food in working with Executive Chef Bryan O’Callaghan (ex-The Tilbury Hotel) with a fresh-focused menu full of seasonal wholefoods, technique-heavy dishes, and even stronger ties to local, seasonal produce. House-made condiments and ferments, including non-dairy cheeses such as coconut feta and cashew cheese, as well as sugar-free jams and sauces, and almond and macadamia milk, all feature with the new options.

Harry’s new breakfast menu reads with fresh offerings like Cacao Hotcakes dressed up with mandarin, coconut Chantilly, almonds, and maple syrup, Teff Porridge with poached quince, coconut cream, and persimmon, and returning favourites like the Crispy Rolled Egg with black beans, avocado, chorizo, cherry tomato, and lime, and the Coconut Chia Pudding (one of our favourites in Sydney) with house-made granola and berries.

Turn the clock forward to lunch time and Harry’s then brings out a menu which includes Gnocchi Verde with kale sprouts and cashew cheese, Warm Crab Salad with radicchio, kipfler potato, orange, and hazelnuts, winter-warming Bone Broth with chicken ballotine, seasonal veggies, and tarragon, and Beef Cheeks with celeriac whey, sautéed greens, and herbed mushrooms.

Harry’s Bondi is a reference point for superior coffee in Bondi, but they’ve also extended their drinks offerings with new ones including kombucha, golden lattes, rooibos chai, hand-crafted sodas, cold-pressed juices, healthy smoothies, and teas sitting alongside specialty coffee which is made with beans that have been roasted in-house.
