As we edge towards the now completely SOLD OUT inaugural Burgerpalooza at Manning House across the 16th and 17th April, the lineup has literally heated up with the addition of artisan producers Handsome Devils Co., who have become the official hot sauce supplier for the event. The Sydney-based company were recently placed at number one in the Good Food “Top Ten New Wave Sauces” and have quickly made a name for themselves as one of Australia’s top boutique hot sauce brands.
Their range of craft hot sauces, including smokey Chipotle, tangy Verde, deeply spiced De Arbol, and bitey Savina, will all be flowing freely on both days, available to spice up creations from Bar Luca, Barrio Cellar, Bare Grill, Chef’s Kitchen, Milk Bar by Cafe Ish, and Pub Life Kitchen.
The company’s presence also gives them reason to host a Chilli Eating Challenge at the event, bringing in some of the worlds hottest chillies for the brave to come and try their hand at some prizes. Registration will be via the Handsome Devils Co. booth at the festival.
That’s not the only food challenge that has been announced for Burgerpalooza either. Foodora and Goodtime Burgers have come on board to stage their epic “Man VS Burger” challenge, which has already been going on for a few years over at the Bondi Junction burger staple. Contestants will be made up of some high-profile pro eaters in the Sydney scene (yes, there’s a Sydney scene) and anyone from the general festival punting populace who think they can eat with the best of ’em.
Those heading along to the sold out two-day burger festival can also expect live art from some of the country’s best street artists including CRISIS, Grizz, Dose-one, and Mike Watt. Artworks will be created and then auctioned off throughout the day in order to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
