Grange Road Egg Shop opens in Toorak (Melbourne)

An upbeat and bright breakfast & brunch venue has recently arrived in Toorak from the same team behind Denis the Menace and St Edmonds. Grange Road Egg Shop is the name, and with a menu designed by Aleksander Nitecki (best known for his work at Yotam Ottolenghi) it’s bringing something playful and inventive to the area.

The 97-seater is focusing on contemporary Asian cuisine with little twists and turns, like one of the kitchen’s most popular orders a Confit Leg of Chicken with poached breast, crispy skin, smoked potato, and grilled nam jim, or the Sumac Crusted Pork with roasted apple, potato puree and red cabbage, or the wildly indulgent Slow-cooked brisket with pickled cabbage, burnt butter hollandaise and lava salt on crumpets. A range of shakes, fresh juices and sodas (try their Peach & Maple or Rhubarb Spritz) are ready to wash it all down.

The breezy new restaurant reflects design inspiration from Miami all the way to Bali, tying it all up with a splash of Californian sunshine that’s found across the vibrant pastel furnishings and custom installations by street artist Deams. DB Architecture are to thank for the breezy look that has shaped out the restaurant’s own slice of the Tudor style, heritage listed building.
