Fratelli Fresh’s fast-casual pizzeria spin-off, Fratelli Famous, has been very well received in Sydney and Melbourne this year, expanding as part of Rockpool Dining Group’s (formerly Urban Purveyor Group) ambitious plans that have seen the hospitality group grow immensely in 2016. Now it’s Brisbane’s turn to get the city’s first Fratelli Famous, and where better to make their debut then on Eagle Street Pier right next to the same group’s Saké Restaurant & Bar and Bavarian Bier Café?
Having opened this past week, Fratelli Famous is now standing proud on the pier, pumping out build-your-own pizzas from their custom built wood stone pizza oven in a 62-seat space designed after a traditional pizzeria but nodding to the location with a large al fresco area and a sizable dining room filled with natural light.
The function is exactly the same as the Sydney and Melbourne stores, with consistency an obvious standard for the brand. Customers build their own pizza by first choosing one of three bases – sourdough, classic Napolitana of gluten-friendly – and then making a selection from a number of sauces, cheeses and toppings. The oven then delivers the chosen pizza in under two minutes.
Those who aren’t feeling as creative can sort through nine signature pizzas o the menu, ranging from the Great Balls of Fire and a classic Margherita to breakfast and dessert pizza. DIY salads and a range of house-made gelato are also available, while drinks include sodas, house-made acqua frettas, and Italian craft beers from the group’s Urban Craft Brewing Co.
Happy hours run daily from 3pm-6pm and offer a deal where customers can grab a large pizza and craft beer for $20.
The opening marks the beginning of Rockpool Dining Group’s renewed focus on Queensland as the largest growth market for the business, kick starting plans which include doubling the group’s presence in the next 24 months.
