Four Pillars’ Rare Dry Gin wins its second Double Gold Medal at the San Fransisco World Spirits Competition

Four Pillars’ Rare Dry Gin has just made history by becoming the only Australian gin to ever win their second Double Gold medal at the 2016 annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The distillery won their very first SFWSC Double Gold medal back in 2014, with the very same gin.

Winning the Double Gold medal once is a high honour as it’s only awarded to those who received a gold medal from every single judge. However, winning the prestigious medal for the second time simply concretes the fact that Australia is home to one of the world’s best gin distilleries.

Four Pillars was founded back in 2013 from a crowdfunding campaign, with Rare Dry Gin being their very first and most famous creation. The distillery, located in Healesville Yarra Valley, now creates four different types of gins which are available at various Australian bars, restaurants and retailers.

The full list of this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition award recipients will be released on April 4th on www.sfspiritscomp.com.
