Flower Child Cafe brings a taste of the tropics to Warringah Mall (Sydney)

Co-founded by Chris Lu (Happy as Larry Pizza Truck, Bondi Hardware) and Adam Choker (The Grounds of Alexandria) newly launched cafe, garden and eatery the Flower Child Cafe lends itself to Warringah Mall’s ‘world class design’ philosophy whilst providing a tropical oasis from the exhausting business of retail therapy.

ACME & Co (The Grounds, Drake Eatery, Archie Rose) have stamped the space with their reputable flair providing a seamless indoor/outdoor experience by applying whitewashed timber, glass panels, loads of vibrant colour and their signature masses of thriving flora. The second Flower Child installment has surpassed co founder Chris Lu’s expectations. “Flower Child Chatswood is somewhat of a secret garden that brings the beauty of the outdoors inside, hidden away in a shopping center, whilst Flower Child Warringah is actually outdoors; there’s sunlight, space and a sprawling water feature that wraps around the outside of the venue. I have to take my hat off to Westfield, it’s unlike any other shopping center I know of, at least in Sydney.”

Grasping more than a few influences from The Grounds, the menu will focus on brekky, brunch and lunch and will feature freshly baked goodies from The Grounds Bakery as well as a range of single origin and seasonal blend coffees from The Grounds Roasters. French toast made famous at Flower Child Cafe Chatswood will take its rightful place on the menu, as well as intriguing creations by chef Nik Jovicki (Merivale) including Pumpkin Gypsy Toast and Japanese Pancakes. The venue will be licensed for those who enjoy a little hair of the dog with their early meal and will look to designing an extensive takeaway menu and dinner options in the near future.
