Brisbane’s third ever Good Food Month is here, running up until July 31st with one of its most expansive programs to date. From Momofuku Seiōbo’s Paul Carmichael collaborating with Josue Lopez at GOMA to a pop-up from internationally awarded Bangkok chef David Thompson, the streets of Brisbane city will be full of delicious happenings all month, and dominate dessert heroes Doughnut Time feel like celebrating the occasion with two special edition American themed doughnuts.
Seeing as the the U.S Independence Day (4th of July) is today, Doughnut Time have created a special limited edition titled Oh my stars & stripes just for Brisbane and available for 9 hours only. They’ve also come up with a second creation that will only be available today, but this one will be offered out nationwide…and it’s inspired by Donald Trump’s windswept hair/wig.
The glazed doughnut glistens with maple and is topped with star-shaped sprinkles, Hersehy’s chocolate (because of course) and salted pretzels, sounding like another hit in a long line of specials from the rapidly expanding brand. They’ll be offloading 300 free Stars & Stripes doughnuts today from 10am until 7pm today only from their vintage caravan at the Brisbane Wintergarden. If you miss out on a freebie, they’ll still be on sale up until sold out.
Similarly, the Donald Trump doughnut – officially titled Hair Dependence Day – is on at all Doughnut Time stores throughout Australia, filled with Peanut Butter & Jelly and topped with a fairy floss toupée. The picture below says it all.
In more good news for Brisbane, Doughnut Time are rumoured to appear at the Night Noodle Markets for two nights only, and while we’re not quite sure if they’ll have any noodle-themed doughnuts available you can keep up to speed with the when, where, and what over at their Facebook Page.
