Breaking Bad’s Los Pollos Hermanos is popping up in Sydney next week, and so is Gus Fring

Gone but definitely not forgotten, AMC’s now iconic Breaking Bad series is still making waves through pop culture, largely in thanks to currently running spin-off Better Call Saul, the third season of which will be premiering in Australia in Stan come April 11th. Cause the celebrate? You’re god damn right. After popping up at SXSW in Texas earlier this year, AMC and Stan will be recreating the legendary Los Pollos Hermanos chicken shop and bringing it to Potts Point in Sydney.

For two days next week Potts Point’s excellent regular chicken shop Thirsty Bird will be transformed into Los Pollos Hermanos, serving up some serious fried chicken for lunch (11:30am-3pm) and dinner (5pm-8:30pm) sessions. No word on whether or not blue meth will be making an appearance (it won’t, it’s illegal), but there will be curly fries, sauce and a drink included in the free meal deals along with two succulent pieces of Southern fried chicken.

Not immersive enough for you? Try get a spot in with Gus Fring, who will be reprised by actor Giancarlo Esposito, on hand to meet-and-greet as he sets aside his time for 25 fans. Registration for the meet-and-greet is via the event’s Facebook page.

Fans are encouraged to head along with their best Better Call Saul inspired outfit to score merch and prizes from the pop-up (and additional spots for the meet and greet).
