Bombay Sapphire are hosting an immersive gin series in Sydney and Melbourne

Bombay Sapphire are bringing back their atmospheric experience Project Botanicals: A Journey to the Edges of Food, Music & Imagination, taking the avid gin drinker and cocktail enthusiast back to the origins of their gin mix. Each two hour session promises to take guests on an interactive sensory journey with audio-visuals designed by artist Ta-Ku while tasting four creations from by Studio Neon chef Aaron Teece and complementing cocktails.

Cocktails will be shaken and stirred by the hands behind some of Australia’s top cocktail bars including Mjolner, The Barber Shop, Union Electric and Bar Moncur. On the menu are creative concoctions like licorice Jasmine Bloom paired with twisted duck pancakes with licorice root gel, and echoes of Morocco with a bright citrus, ginger spice and coriander seed cocktail paired with lamb tagine and coriander yogurt.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of music and visuals to invoke a certain emotion, which you can see in my photography and videography projects at home and whilst travelling”, said Ta-Ku who will be largely responsible for the overall atmosphere surrounding guests at Project Botanicals. “The change to integrate yet another sensory experience in to this with taste was something I jumped at, to create immersive music and visuals as part of the Bombay Sapphire Project Botanicals experience, transporting guests to the ends of the earth”.

Throughout the 2-hour experience, each guest will be dipped into a highly curated world representing Bombay Sapphire botanical locations across the globe, whether that mean chilling under a grove of trees in Spain or sitting atop the hazy Javanese mountains where cubeb berry is sourced for use in the gin. There’s plenty of surprises in store to make sure this iteration of Project Botanicals is Bombay Sapphire’s most ambitious to date, combining vivid light installations, food, and cocktails to focus on different tastes and sensations. The installations will also feature individual soundscapes created to enhance and change perceptions of the cocktails.

The series will be coming to Sydney from 16th November until Sunday 19th November, and Melbourne 23rd November until Sunday 26th November, with tickets on sale now for $40.
