The Bentley Restaurant team will replace Noma Australia with a seafood restaurant (Sydney)

René Redzepi’s gloriously innovative – by all accounts – Noma Australia has been stretching into it’s location at Barangaroo for some weeks now, heading towards that inevitably sad moment when the pop up restaurant has to pack up and make way for something else. That something else has now been confirmed to be a new opening from the award-winning team behind Bentley Restaurant & Bar, as confirmed by Brent Savage himself.

Last week Savage confirmed that, along with celebrated Sommelier Nick Hildebrandt, he will be working on a seafood-centric restaurant for the space, slotting into Noma’s lofty shows in September of this year. The restaurant will have a capacity for around 100 people and will feature a bar and outdoor area, bringing in a more casual feel than the up-scale Bentley, fitting in nicely in a portolio that also includes Yellow and Monopole. Since Hildebrandt is involved, we can expect an excellent wine list.

The restaurant is the biggest signing for the Barangaroo development since they locked in Matt Moran, who will also be opening a restaurant in the precinct later this year.
