Bare Grill to expand from La Perouse to Surry Hills this week (Sydney)

Don’t want to bus it to La Perouse and check out Bare Grill despite the promise of chowing down on some of the very best burgers in Sydney? No worries. Over the past few months the grill-and-cafe has become famous for their burgers and other delicious nosh, getting regular shout outs on the infamous Fatties Burger Appreciation Society and drawing food fiends from around the city to the loopy end of Anzac Parade, it’s shot demand up so much that the team are launching an expansion this week, and it’s right on Bourke Street in Surry Hills.

Less than two years after their original opened at 1599 Anzac Parade, Bare Grill on Bourke will be operating in Surry Hills from Friday 30th September, bringing their burgers and ribs to the inner-city, served in a restaurant setting that fills the courtyard space opposite Merivale’s The Beresford Hotel with plenty of indoor-outdoor seating.

We have an inkling that Bare Grill on Bourke will be adding a few new burgers to their menu for this venture, switching things up alongside their indulgent sides like loaded fries and the epic pine lime spice freakshake. They’ve also been fully licensed, and while details on the full menu are scarce we’re expecting to wash those burgers down with some Aussie craft brews. You’ll be in good company when you head along too, watching you stuff your face will be the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Marilyn Monroe, gigantic murals that take up most of the wall-space thanks to local artist Mr G.

Bare Grill has been a name on the edge of Fatties’ lips for awhile now, immersed in the notorious Facebook group shortly after owners Manuel and Irene Katakis were introduced by marketing and tech company Ompty. Since then it seems like word of mouth has lured many down to try those Americana-style cheeseburgers, and while there’s nothing at all wrong with heading to gorgeous La Perouse, Surry Hills seems like a necessary and obvious move for a burger joint continuing to make their own mark on the massive scene.
